The development and revitalization of the entertainment venue of The Carolina Theatre, coincides with the renovations of Spruce Pine's economically concerned mountain community. Spruce Pine is among many other communities that are off the beaten path of large cities and major highways. The manufacturing plants that once sustained many jobs for our local residents, have either closed or moved to another city or state. The ever so popular and desired, “Made in America”, slogan no longer holds true. We find that in order to survive and yes, even thrive, we must look to our roots, our heritage, in order to compete in a world of fast paced living.

In and around the Spruce Pine, Mitchell County NC area, there are many entertainment venues, wonderful sights and delightful interest for individuals and families visiting North Carolina. From skiing in the winter to river rafting in the summer, tourist abound.
